    Greetings families,

    This is Andrés Flores, Principal of Lawrence MS to inform you that our school will be closed starting March 21, 22, & 23.  Continuity of learning will occur from home. The school will be closed to receive students.  Every student will have access to printed materials or assignments on Schoology. Student assignment packets will be distributed to students and posted on Schoology by Monday, March 20th.  Students may complete either the paper packet or complete assignments in Schoology by logging into Schoology at New assignments provided during the work stoppage will not count towards a student's grade. Assignments issued to students on March 20th or prior will be graded and counted as usual following individual teacher course guidelines. 

    Our main office will be open from 8:00 a.m.  to 4:00 p.m. to help students with device or password issues, or if you need to pick-up a packet.  

    We will also be hosting virtual office hours as indicated in the schedule below. Virtual office hours are to assist students in connecting with resources, it is not teaching.

    Los Angeles Unified Family Hotline: Call the Family Hotline at (213) 443-1300 during weekdays from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM for support with questions about the strike and how it affects your school and child.

    Tech Support Help Desk: For support with District technology, call Information Technology Services at (213) 241-5200 weekdays from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. You may also chat with an agent online:

    Student Health and Human Services: For non-emergency support with mental health matters or with helping families with basic needs, call the Student Health and Human Services hotline at (213) 241-3840 weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

    Grab and Go Food Locations: During the work stoppage, six meals per student will be available for pick up on March 21 from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the following locations. Click on the link for information.

    Student Supervision/Childcare: Student supervision will be available at select elementary, middle, and high schools from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. These services are available at limited locations - click link for information. Every effort will be made to accommodate your child at the site you choose for student supervision. Should the site you choose be at capacity, you will be directed to an alternative site. If your child requires any special accommodations or has specific health issues, please immediately inform the site administrator of these concerns. 

    Our Lawrence students attended Engineer's Week and won First, Second, Third, and Fourth place in an essay contest.
