SAS Program Information

List of SAS Schools and Selection Process

SAS Permit Application

 

  • SAS student permit applications may be obtained at the local school or may be downloaded from the LAUSD website (see SAS Student Permit Application and Criteria).
  • Application is submitted directly to the SAS school(s) of choice during the application period (parents may apply to more than one site).
  • The SAS student permit application must be completed and signed by the parent/guardian and the principal/designee of the school of attendance before submitting it to the SAS school(s) of choice. 

Selection

  • The school of attendance must confirm student eligibility (if applicable) by completing pages 2–3 of the application. The school of attendance is responsible for maintaining records of supporting evidence at the school site (subject to audits).
  • The SAS school of choice will send notification letters and if accepted, parents must return the "Confirmation of Attendance" form to the SAS school by the deadline indicated.
  • SAS permit selection will be conducted after the deadline by lottery (selection conducted based on date/time stamp or other school created process is NOT permitted).
