Several years ago as a part of the LAUSD effort to provide resources for campus beautification, wildflowers were planted in two barren median strips in the parking lot. Dear Lawrence Middle School Community,

Dear Members of the Lawrence Middle School Community,

In my February letter to you, I indicated that the Interim Assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics were in progress.  I am pleased to inform you that the Interim Assessments have been completed.

The window for the Smarter Balanced Assessments from the State of California will go from April 24 to May 19, 2017, for all students.  Additionally, 8th grade students will take the California Science Test (CAST) on April 5, 6, and 7, through their Science classes.  I would like to emphasize the importance of school attendance on testing days, which includes not only arriving on time but also not leaving early.  Please do not make dental or medical appointments on testing dates, unless it is an emergency.

I hope to see you all in our upcoming “Coffee with the Principal” on March 28, 2017, in the Parent Center. (Parking is available on Lemarsh Street)

Thank you for your continued support.

Very truly yours,

Ms. Marilu Pigliapoco
